IMAP Mail Sync Problem

I hope that someone can help out, here's the problem.

I have an IMAP mail account on my PPC setup for my Outlook mail at work.

This accounts syncs perfectly when the PPC is in the cradle and I am using
the PC passthrough.

This account syncs perfectly when I am at home and am wirelessly connected
through my home network and ISP to the internet.

When I set up a GPRS bluetooth connection using my mobile phone (Sony
Ericsson Z600) I can use my PPC to surf the net but the IMAP sync always
fails with the "Mail cannot be downloaded" message.

I must have checked the setting dozens of times and cannot see where it is
wrong. I have tried configuring the SMTP mail to be my ISP but that
doesn't work and anyway, I can't se why it works fine when I am connected
wirelessly.

I have an iPAQ 5455 running PPC2003.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.
