Re: Using iPAQ hw6515 to send faxes from a laptop using Bluetooth

I am using the 6515 on Cingular in Florida, and I have Cingular's
Media Works unlimited Internet package for data. I purchased the phone
through Expansys. This phone was purchased by my office for testing as
an alternative to the MPx220 that is used throughout the company. Some
of the users don't like to type e-mails using the MPx220's keypad and
so they were asking about alternatives. We were originally looking at
the Motorolla MPx that was a dual flip phone, but it was discontinued
before ever arriving in the States. I personally prefer the
Smartphones because I like my phone to be more of a phone (compact,
one hand use, etc.) with some PDA features instead of a PDA with the
phone features added in. The nice thing about the 6515, however, is
being able to use the full range of PocketPC applications, not just
those developed for Smartphone. We run Exchange 2003, so Windows
Mobile phones are ideal because the users can sync over the air with
very little hassle or cost. For the MPx220, we don't even have to
install Activesync on the user's computer if they don't care about
syncing Tasks. We can just install our security certificate from a
miniSD card and setup the server settings on the phone itself. The
6515 gives an error when we try to install the certificate, so we have
to connect it to the computer at least once in order to use
disablecertchk.exe with the phone. Actually, if anyone knows a way
around this, please let me know. The only other issue we have with the
phones is the inability to sync our public contacts folders on the
Exchange server. Looking over the new features of Windows Mobile 5.0,
I saw that they still haven't added Public Folder syncing. It is very
dissapointing considering they added features like true push e-mail
which isn't nearly as important considering users could already set
the phone to sync every 10 minutes. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
