You can install software either via IR or wireless as well as move files.
You can establish an AS connection via IR, BT or WiFi. You must of course
have IR or BT on the desktop/laptop, or a wireless lan to attach to. You can
do it WiFi to the partner PC using an ADHoc connection, but I find that a
royal pain to get set up.

The easiest is BT, IMHO, and actually seems faster than the cradle
connection. If you have one of those technologies available on the PC side,
post back and we can work on getting you going. If not, You might consider a
BT dongle. You can get them for around $50.

You can also install software by running setup on the desktop, finding the
extracted cab file, putting that on an SD or CF card, putting the card into
the PPC and running the cab file. That of course requires a card reader on
the PC.
