Hmm I don't know what version you have there (I've got 3.8 but I
wasn't aware these items were missing in earlier versions)

It doesn't - it's a program that's installed on the PC not the PDA.
Updates to AS are usually just to do with reliablility issues or file
conversion. I can't remember any major new features - although I
wouldn't go for AS4 right now cause they removed the capability to
sync over WiFi (dunno why :-p)
