I recently purchased a HP Jornada 545 due to limited financial resources . IT has the following specification:

WinCE Version 3.0.9348 (Build 9357) copyright 1996-1999

Processor: SHx SH3
Memory: 15.87 Mb
Expansion Slot: 128 Mb Flash Memory Card

I have tried downloading programs specified for SH3 processors or PC 2000 both in .RAR .EXE .CAB format but usually get the response "xxxx is not a valid WinCE application." or some such thing.

Can anyone suggest where I can get *valid* WinCe applications suitable for this Pocket PC.

Being a first time user, how for instance do I load a .RAR file, .Cab File, or .zip file into the Pocket PC correctly? Do I have to carry out an action on the rar/zip/cab *before* downloading to the PPC ?

Confused

Connect to your PC via Active Synch

Files are downloaded to your Desktop. UnRAR or UnZip those files into
a folder and if there is an .exe file, run it on your pc and it will
install through active synch

If it has or is a cab file, drag that to your storage card, use file
explorer to open it and it will install.

Most progs have a readme file zipped in with the .exe file. Read
them.

Thanks for all your help, it has been very useful and given me a better insight into and solution to the problem
.
