There is no point in trying to remove built in software. You wouldn't get
any memory back doing so. The files are in ROM, and although we now
typically get the leftover ROM to use as File Store, you don't get more, if
you were to try to get rid of some built in programs. There is no facility
to do that in any case.
I am somewhat surprised that installing Acrobat did not re-associate .pdf's
with it. I can point you at
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/gsfinder.shtml which does indicate it
can do file associations. I can personally recommend Resco File Explorer for
the job.
