You have to "tap-and-hold", not "click", on it.
Tap-and-hold means click on it without releasing it. While you do that, a
total of eight red circles will appear in clockwise order starting from the
12 o'clock direction. After that the red circles will disappear and a menu
will popup. Select the "Delete" menu item in the popup menu.
Alternatively, you can select the file so that it becomes highlighted.
Then, use the Shift-Del (Shift-backspace) combination on your soft keyboard
to delete the file.
