To eliminate the possiblity of Battery issues did you try it with power
hooked up? Also see if it tries to charge the battery when hooked to
power - I believe that model had the indicator lights. At a certain point
some units will do nothing if the battery is too low, so let it charge for
an hour (if the indicator light shows this to be happening) and then try it.

Finally, if there is not a charging light on, are you sure that the power
supply is working? Maybe you only think you are charging the battery...
