Possible problem:

1) Turn the personal firewall (if your on a private lan only!) off and
see if that makes a difference.

2) Make sure netbios over TCP/IP is enabled. Go to the properties of
your network interface, choose TCP/IP and click properties, click
advanced, go to the WINS tab, and click on Enabled NETBIOS over TCP/IP.
  That one got me a while back.
