Help!
I can't get Pocket Outlook to connect to an email server and
send/receive emails. Instead of connecting to the server, it just sits
there looking stupid. Very occasionally, if I leave it there for several
minutes it manages to connect and send/receive. I've tried this with
several different POP/SMTP email accounts and servers and the problem
persists with all of them.
The actual network connection (GPRS from mobile phone, over infrared)
seems fine because I can browse the Web with Pocket IE no problem at
all.
Also, if I use my Win XP laptop and Outlook Express with the mobile
phone, it connects to GPRS, connects to the email server and
sends/receives no problem at all - and that's with the same POP/SMTP
settings on the PC as on the PocketPC, and as near as dammit the same
GPRS 'dial-up' settings on both. This leads me to think the problem lies
in the PocketPC and not in the phone.
This is with Pocket PC 2003 on an iPaq 1930. I'm connecting via IrDA
(with Generic IR Modem setting on the iPaq) to a SonyEricsson T68i, on
Vodafone UK, GPRS data. Problem persists regardless of strength of
mobile signal. Being stationary or on the move makes no difference.
Cheers, Nick
