alarms don't always notify me on the ipaq

i have this problem... i recently switched from palm to an ipaq...
with palm it was quite easy, u just set up an alarm and then it'd just
remind u right on time... not so with the ipaq... it doesn't always
beep and sometimes i'd switch on to get that alarm that didn't go off
when it should've...

what can i do about this... thanks
