It almost certainly will never happen, as it turns out. Below is a quote
from a post on the AT&T Wireless support forums. Besides the quoted post,
there are other posts in the same thread reporting receiving the same info
from both Nokia and HP. And Nokia says that all future phones will utilize
the "Combination Keys" method for pairing.

I have no idea if the BT firmware *can* be flash upgraded in the 19xx/22xx
devices. And even if it can, I wouldn't put any money on HP bothering to
do it :-(

It sucks. Returned my 6820 to AT&T yesterday, replaced it with a Sony
Ericsson T616 (which works fine).
