They did. All models come with either a backup battery (which
saves your data for a day or two), or use the last juice in your
main battery to save your data for a day or so. So when you mean
you've used all the battery life, it means you didn't even
charge within a day after that happened. Which is not too
clever.
You got to think of a Pocket PC as a running computer, where you
install programs not on the harddisk, but in RAM. You need to
keep it powered on to keep the data that's in RAM. With the
Pocket PC, it means you have to keep some power.
If you don't want to use your Pocket PC for a day or two, just
put it on power, and forget all about it.
