First let's clear up the dead battery issue. When a PPC powers down it does
NOT completely turn of. The RAM memory is volatile, so it requires power to
keep that memory. Even when off they still drain battery life. So you MUST
keep the unit charged.
Now for the back up: Are you doing the procedure right: When you connect do
so as a guest, then go to tools/back up restore/choose the restore tab, and
tap on restore now. Once you have restored you can sync, and you should be
good to go. If you are doing this and still have a problem come back a state
what is happening.
