If you are saying the Wi-Fi works from the Samsung to a PC or laptop, then that is in ADHOC (peer-to-peer) mode rather than infrastructure, which is what is used for Samsung to wireless network Access Point. Not sure where you would look for that selection on a Samsung with 6.1. Actually it is typically harder to get a PC to PC Wi-Fi link set up than an infrastructure one, since you normally have to supply the IP addresses manually.

If you find where you can select Adhoc/infrastructure make sure you select infrastructure and DHCP (get addresses automatically) rather then assigning them manually. If a secured network you will of course need to supply the key.

Another thing to note is that I can connect to a computer-to-computer
connection. I am not sure what the difference is.
