Depends what you mean by wireless when you say you don't want that. I found Bluetooth Sync to do the job with minimum problems pre Vista. Since Vista it is a headache. Any authorised PDA coming in contact with the PC connected Bluetooth dongle could connect and sync.
Since Vista and a lot of bluetooth dongles refusing to work with it, wi-fi has come into use and it has opened a better range of options to be honest. Eg, a rep calls into a well known food house for lunch, connects to wi-fi and then securely to the server, transfers data and is done in minutes. Alternatively, the rep can also connect from their home via wireless, too. The change is coming, though. Phone/PDA in one unit and higher speed wi-fi broadband and just connect from wherever they can connect to a mobile phone tower.

Hello all -
I have a client that has 30 Windows Mobile 5.0 devices that I have setup
with a .net app, with a SQL 2005 Compact Edition database. I would like to
use replication to take the data collected on the PDA, and send it to a SQL
Server 2005 database without having to plug the PDA's into a pc, and without
the use of ActiveSync. Is this possible? Could anyone point me in the right
direction of a sample or tutorial I could read through?
Thanks a bunch for your help.
