Option 8 doesn't exist in WM5 anymore :( I'm really upset that this was
taken out as it means you either have to setup exceptions to trigger the
vpn connection or manually start the vpn connection from the connections
menu (where you setup the vpn connection in the first place). The only
way to force everything through the vpn conneciton is to goto the
exceptions list
That's a terrible design choice - why would people want LESS information
about what they're connected to?
The answer to my problem ends up being in the Pocket Outlook account setup
menu. Under advanced options, it asks which network to connect to. I had to
change it from "Internet" to "Work", and it then used the VPN.
If Microsoft reads this newsgroup, please add network code in WM6 that's
interpretable to humans. This "Internet" vs. "Work" connection doesn't make
any sense at all. How about "modem" vs. "Networked" connection? Or, how
about an option to allow users to choose a list of locations (home, work,
etc.), and have it configure the network settings (VPN, DHCP, etc.) based on
where you are?
Well, I won't hold my breath. Thanks for the help!
