i just wanted to pop in and say thanks :).
i ended up getting a Phone as modem data plan from sprint
and connect the PDA to the Phone via bluetooth.
so far so good.

Please tell me that you have already checked the web sites you need to
visit with the Dell. PIE doesn't always work like the desktop. If it
works connected via WiFi or pass through, there's no reason it shouldn't
through a BT/phone connection, just possibly a bit slower. I don't know
much about what Sprint offers, just that it is not GSM.

So far so good with the web sites. far from as good with a desktop but
doable.
i found it strange that so many big sites dont convert well to PIE but my
web site
that I made no changes to resizes and displays perfectly on PIE.

my wife tricked me.. i told her the yesterday what her options are to let
my self off the hook from hearing future complaints. sooo she says. what
would i choose. because the phone she has offers the longest battery life
from what i have seeen. i think we are going to go with sprints card and
connect it to the PDA. in anycase i will let you guys know how it all
works out.

i will recommend BT to her, she will use her phone for email
and the PDA with its big screen for the web. We have a lot of suppliers
that have web sites
and the bigger screen will make it much easier for her to see.
right now i am thinking i should have just got her one of the PDA's from
sprint but i also knew she wanted something really nice so i beefed up
the PDA as much as i could and i think it has to blow away anything
sprint has.. all i can say is that i did my best and I hope she is
happy.
