That's a pretty old device that's been out of production for some time,
so, would suggest that the villain in this event is Staples and it is on
par with a number of bad experiences I have encountered and heard about
over the past year.

If I were you, would go back to Staples and escalate as far as possible.

While that one event may be a non-HP problem, I have to say, after getting a
HX2190 brand new last Xmas, it being no end of trouble, finally died and
went in for repair then came back and wont reliably bluetooth Sync any
longer that I feel the bigger part of the problem is HP Ipaqs.
