Well, first broadcast the SSID. Not broadcasting the SSID is not a valid
security measure since modern hacking tools can easily detect a cloaked
SSID. Not to mention not broadcasting a SSID can cause connectivity
issues...
Your better off using strong encryption, ie. upgrade to WPA or add
firmware that supports WPA, to your wireless network and use a long random
key.
The filler **** characters are just that...ie. fillers. They do not
reflect the true length of the real key.
Just as an aside, have there been many cases of home users having weaker 64
bit keys hacked?
What about using an open system with mac filtering? - Are there many
recorded cases of people having their mac spoofed?
Has anyone here ever actually had someone hack into their home network? As
opposed to hearing about a friend's friend..
