You could also use a third-party SSL proxy like Mail2Web which works well
for me. Note the email address you use must be a POP3 service...

use my pocket outlook when im connected viw wireless to hotspots?

You shouldn't need to make any changes for receiving emails from say a pop
mail server, but sending emails you may need to use the smtp server of the
ISP you are accessing. This is the same if you were using say GPRS on a
mobile. Your own ISP might allow you to send from their SMTP server if you
log in, but you need to check. Many ISP's also have a web page that you
can access (and send) email.

I've copied the bit from BT Openzone about how to do this, but most
providers should provide the same info. Generally I setup a specific email
account called something like Openzone Send which I only use if connected
to that network.

"...BT Openzone provides fast wireless access to the internet and to send
email you need to connect with your ISP's outgoing mail server. However,
some ISPs don't allow users to connect directly to their outgoing mail
servers from the internet because of security and spamming (junk email)
concerns. It's therefore possible that you may have difficulty sending
mail this way.
However, you can easily send mail via the BT Openzone outgoing SMTP mail
server. To do this, you'll need to change your email program's (such as
Outlook or Outlook Express) outgoing mail server setting to
SMTP.btopenzone.com..."
