I had this problem on my first SPV M2000 (the same phone as yours but
with different branding). If you connect to the VPN by tapping on the
signal icon and then "Connect VPN" it disconnects almost immediately.
I figured this was because it decided what I wanted to access didn't
need the vpn connected so got rid of it.
Basically what I did was set the network card to "The Internet" and
also my GPRS connection to "The Internet". The default work connection
is set to "My Work Connection". Internal sites are listed in the
exceptions. Email is set to download from the "My Work Connection"
connection.
STEP BY STEP:
Tap the signal strength icon
Tap settings
Tap advanced
Tap Select Networks
Select your usual GPRS connection for the internet box (top one)
Select My Work Connection in the other
Tap OK
Tap Exceptions
Put any internal intranet sites in there (using wildcards where
necessary)
Tap OK
Tap Start
Tap Settings
Tap Connections
Tap Network Cards
Tap Network Adapters
Select The Internet in the top box
Tap OK
Now if you try and access any website that you have added to the
exceptions list it should automatically connect to the VPN
Also if accessing network shares or activesync it should connect to the
VPN
If you want to check your email via the VPN too then in Outlook on the
device goto:
Accounts then Accounts...
Tap the account
Tap next 3 times then tap options
Change the Connection to My Work Network
Then click next and finish a few times
Hope that helps
