Thanks for the help. But still no go.

I installed both those programs before and I seem to get a valid IP address,
subnet mask, dhcp server address, all from my dhcp server. The only info I
don't seem to get is> Default gateway, primary wins, secondary wins. these
are all empty.

my settings look ok as pictured from that site suggested, the only thing
that looks different is in the screen shot that has Connections.. Advanced,
under My work Network, I do not see "manage existing connections" is this
important?

Just for info: The wireless access point is connected via LAN cable to the
cable modem/router. I have 2 laptops running wirelessly off this wireless
access point and they work fine. I have 2 pcs running of the cable
modem/router. interestingly enough, both the router and the AP are DHCP
servers. Didn't seem a problem with the laptops.

DO I have a dodgy Card in my pocket Pc?
