Yes the AP does play a role in roaming. I had two ap's from different makers
and not only was roaming not supported, laptop A on AP A couldn't talk to
laptop B on AP B. It was really frustrating but it seems that now things
are much better. That was over 3 years ago with that problem. Still you
shouldn't have to power cycle the device to get it to connect to a new
network. I have to install the latest 4150 rom and see if I can get it to
roam. I know my friends 4150 doesn't like his linksys router/ap when set to
64 bit wep but works perfectly fine on our other friends network who has the
exact same router/ap.
