Hi,
I've got an HP IPAQ 5550 and currently use my Bluetooth enabled mobile
telephone to connect to the internet using GPRS. This took me a little
time to get working but after a call to 02 Data services I finally got
it working.
Now I'm planning a trip round Europe. I could still use GPRS and my
Mobile to get connected but Its been suggested that I use the inbuilt
Wifi Feature of my 5550 to connect as there's many free hotspots
around.
The problem is I do not have a wifi connection here with which to test
my setup and I do not want to lose my Bluetooth connection settings.
At the moment when I click connect on Inbox or internet explorer it
"dials" my mobile automagically. Can I set up my IPAQ to realise that
bluetooth is off but wifi is on and use that instead? Also, is there
an easy way to get the ipaq to refesh it's list of "found" WiFi sites
and determine if public access is allowed?
I assume each WiFi access point will have it's own network settings
that will need to be configured?? I'll have to visit a starbucks or
similar and pay to test my settings on their pay-per-use access point,
before I start my journey I assume?
sorry for my newbish questions ( Ex Palm-user Convert :) )
