I have a SMC 2662W-V3 USB Wifi adapter and a Ipaq 4150. I can connect the
two and browse the net and lan from my ipaq perfectly fine when wep
encryption is disabled, but as soon as I enable it, i can't make any
connection at all. It doesn't even get an DHCP IP address.
The smc utility only allows you to pick encryption bit length (64 or 128)
and set a passphrase. You can then click on a generate button which
generates four hex keys.
I've heard that the pocket pc only accepts the hex representation of the
passphrase as a network key, but when i enter a 5 character passphrase, set
the encryption to 64 bit and enter the passphrase converted to hex into the
pocket pc, i can't seem to connect to anything.
Can anyone please, please help me here.
Thanks
Riaan
