I have the following network setup:
Buffalo CBR-G54 broadband router
X-Modem ADSL modem
Windows XP desktop
Windows 2000 laptop connected via wireless using Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A card.
IPAQ h5550
The router is configured as a DHCP server and to filter MAC addresses, it
also has WEP enabled.
Facts:
1. I see the iPAQ MAC address on the router.
2. I can ping the IP address allocated to the iPAQ.
3. I have configured no proxy (there isn't one on my network).
4. I can get a green led and double-arrow icon. When clicking on this it
give a pop-up showing the connection, eg. Internet and the reception level.
This is intermittent though.
5. I have tried using Internet and Work.
6. I updated the wireless driver to 3.2.2.115.
Problems:
1. I cannot connected to the internet. The browser says page cannot be
displayed (it does display if i cradle the IPAQ).
2. I cannot open a shared file on the XP desktop, eg. //ODIN/test.txt. Says
it cannot connect.
3. The connection seems to jump around redetecting the network all the time.
Questions:
1. Should i use Internet or Work? Internet when accessing the internet
directly through my broadband router, and Work when trying to see shared
directories on the network?
2. Can you please confirm what the configuration should be?
