Just for grins, what is the name of your device in ActiveSync or Windowsa
Mobile Device Center (if you are using Vista). BTW, are we talking about
host name on a WiFi network or a Cell network? On my WiFi network my
devices show up as what I put in the Device ID in Settings. That is also
what shows up as the device name in AS or WMDC. That has been known to be
changed by WMDC (not so much by AS). It is easy to change on a PPC. On a
Smartphone it is in the registry, but there is no user GUI for it.
Yes, the names are the same. The name that shows up for the device in
ActiveSync is the same name that shows up in the "Wireless Client MAC List"
on my wireless router.
It is a Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone so is there a way to change that
name?
Many thanks.
