Re: How do you change Network ID?

Just for grins, what is the name of your device in ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center (if you are using Vista). BTW, are we talking about a host name on a WiFi network or a Cell network? On my WiFi network my devices show up as what I put in the Device ID in Settings. That is also what shows up as the device name in AS or WMDC. That has been known to be changed by WMDC (not so much by AS). It is easy to change on a PPC. On a Smartphone it is in the registry, but there is no user GUI for it.

Assuming it is somewhere on your phone, i.e. not somewhere on the network,
it is probably just picking it up from somewhere you did enter your name.

Not possible, since I have not used my last name anywhere on my Pocket PC
Phone yet and I have certainly not used my last name the way the "Client
Host Name" displays it with a '1' at the end.

BTW I took a print out of how my network name shows up on a wireless router,
down to the place I bought my Pocket PC Phone, and now I've got people
working on it, so I might hear something next week.

Thanks and I'll let you know what happens.
