I assumed this was the type of connection the OP meant. At least
partly because I don't use the other kind, and thus a bit biased in my
interpretation of questions. I would have interpreted the original
question differently if it had said something about high speed and/or
one of the acronyms for such connections and/or something about data
plan.

Thanks for the clarifications. Apparently I'm also a bit biased,
because I could have sworn that the OP had asked about GPRS, but
obviously he didn't.
