Hi,
I have T-mobile Vario II PPC (WM5) also known as a Hermes 300 (I think) and
was wondering if I could connect this to a laptop and use it as a laptop
modem. This is to unable me to use the larger laptop screen and keyboard
for posting live updates to a website via a dedicated webpage. It would be a
little easier than using the built-in keyboard on the Vario II.
First, you need an ISP that provides dial-up connections.
On the Pocket PC
See Programs->Wireless Modem. Choose the type of connection (probably
USB) and then press Start
On the laptop
In ActiveSync, disable USB connection. Connect Vario. If you already
have a dial-up connection, the Vario should show up as a USB modem. If
you don't have a dial-up connection, see Network Connections (possibly
Start->Programs->Accessories->Communications),
cheers Paul
