First, I can't speak for "Smartphone" but since you may have a
"phoneedition"...
The primary problem that most people have with this is that it does not
support "browsing shares" ...you have to know and enter the fully
qualified name of the computer offering the share... for example
\\my-desktopbox\
Once you connect to that computer, you can then browse to that
computer's shares.
In addition, you can copy files to and from network shares using file
explorer, but you can't open them directly... for example, tapping a wma
file on the network will not play it on your ppc.
