Phil,
Very detailed post, good job.
Here are some of my comments.
1. I specifically set my email to be downloaded on-demand. The reasons are
as follows:
a. The device will turn on every time Outlook needs to poll your mail server.
b. It will constantly poll at the time variable entered (your question
about the constantly polling the mail server)
2. The problems you are experiencing with double email is specific to your
mail server. POP3 mail servers are notorious for this. Make sure that your
laptop or desktop is configured to download the actual email and not the
copy. This way, your device will pull down the copy.
3. I have not had any trouble sending emails over 3k. Check your memory
settings, using the Start-Settings-System-Memory. Allocate the appropriate
space.
4. I never use the cradle.
If you have more questions, please post a reply or contact me directly.
Thanks,
Joe Schurman
