GSM max at 9.6kbps, 14.4kbps depending on network. GPRS max at 48kbps
depending on network, althought the maximum is over 100kbps. EDGE will give
you around 130kbps.

CDMA 1xRTT will probably get you around 60kbps, CDMA EV-DO around 300kbps.

AFAIK Verizon is CDMA, and will deploy EV-DO in some places to start with. I
haven't heard of Verizon going GSM.
