By sending SHCMBM_OVERRIDEKEY to the menu bar, you are overriding the
default behavior. It just so happens that after that's done VK_TBACK
is now VK_ESCAPE,
Now I'm confused. What changes VK_TBACK to VK_ESCAPE? I assumed the
whole point of SHCMBM_OVERRIDEKEY was to let me determine all the
effects of the key. If something else is changing TBACK to ESCAPE then
I don't have full control and SHCMBM_OVERRIDEKEY isn't very useful.
so the MessageBox dialog dismisses itself when you
release the VK_ESCAPE key.
You'd have to create your own dialog and prevent it from being
dismissed when it sees escape.
