I appreciate very much if anyone can help me or provide some
comments.
I have a HTC TyTN. With this product, I can send UDP packets to a
UDP server over the GPRS/3G network ( I downloaded a free trial
IPer 6.0 product to generate UPD traffic. You can find the product
at
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/Testers/IPer-100
64
.shtml). This works when the Wifi is OFF. However, when the Wifi is
ON, the UDP server cannot receive any data packets, even a single
one.
So, my question is does anyone here experience the same problem
before? If not, can anyone verify if your device behave similar to
mine.
Thank you very much, and I am looking forward for your reply.
I would think the firewall of your wifi-router blocks the specific
udp- port. You should be able to correct that.

Thank Evertjan for your reply,
I did not use wifi to send the UDP packets. I used GPRS interface to
do so. This works fine when wifi is OFF, but when wifi is ON, we
cannot send any UDP packets. Moreover, I can also send the UDP packets
using wifi, and hence, there should not be any issues with the wifi-
router or port blocking. Do you have any other ideas? Did you try to
run the same test on your device?
That is implicit, as probably the GPRS connection will not be used if
there is an active WIFI connection to the web.
Otherwise it could cost you data stream payment, even when a free
connection is available.
At least my Touch Cruise acts that way if both connecions are active.

Thanks again Evertjan,
Did you mean that your Touch Cruise acts the same as my device?
The GPRS connection stops when there is active WiFi connection?
Is this something to do with Connection Manager?
Glad to hear from you,
Sam
