Keeping Wifi turned on while the display is off

Hello all,

Is there a way to keep wifi alive while the display is turned off? I
tried using ExtEscape, SetSystemPowerState as well as SetDevicePower
(to bring back power to wifi after switching off the display). all of
them seem to switch off display and wifi together.

1. Is there anyway that instant messengers can be run on pocket pc
over wifi while keeping the display switched off?
2. Can it be done using ioctls and ndis drivers?
