Hi

I am developing a distributed application which will involve desktops,
laptops, tablet pcs and pocket pcs. I will be setting up an adhoc network so
that these devices can communicate with each other. In lieu of this I have
some doubts:

1. What is the best way to enable data transfer to/from pocket pcs ?
Laptops/Desktops can transfer data by going to file explorer and typing
%\\computer_name% and then we can copy and paste the files. Though not the
best method it works. Does somebody have any suggestions how this can be
done with Pocket PCs ? Does an alternate solution exist to enable data
transfer in this network ?

2. Each of these devices in the network will be required to maintain a
database which will then communicate the respective information to the
centralized database (on a desktop). The centralized database is in Oracle.
I dont think we can install Oracle on Pocket PCs .. Right ? What would be
the best database system to install on the pocket pcs which will enable easy
interaction with the Oracle centralized database ?

Any help/hints would be really appreciated. Thanks...

I am definitely biased. But unless your app does something
particularly specialized, buying may well be less expensive than
developing your own. Especially when you include the costs of
debugging over real networks with real users, and then modifying a few
times (which _will_ happen, unless your project is trivial).
