Hi!
The easy part first - Oracle _is_ available for Windows Mobile, so best
stick with one database everywhere.
Now for the data trasfer part... If you have your PPCs connected to a PC
via cable and ActiveSync, you can use a RAPI application running on your
Desktop PC (or laptop) to get the data over. Maybe you can even configure
ActiveSync to do that work for you, but I'm not so apt with ActiveSync.
If you don't connect, well, then you have to ring up your server
essentially, and if you get your according configurations (please ask a
network guru) you have a kind of virtual network where you can work with
your PPC file explorer and just copy your data to the server.

Hi
I am developing a distributed application which will involve desktops,
laptops, tablet pcs and pocket pcs. I will be setting up an adhoc
network so that these devices can communicate with each other. In lieu
of this I have some doubts:
1. What is the best way to enable data transfer to/from pocket pcs ?
Laptops/Desktops can transfer data by going to file explorer and
typing %\\computer_name% and then we can copy and paste the files.
Though not the best method it works. Does somebody have any
suggestions how this can be done with Pocket PCs ? Does an alternate
solution exist to enable data transfer in this network ?
2. Each of these devices in the network will be required to maintain a
database which will then communicate the respective information to the
centralized database (on a desktop). The centralized database is in
Oracle. I dont think we can install Oracle on Pocket PCs .. Right ?
What would be the best database system to install on the pocket pcs
which will enable easy interaction with the Oracle centralized
database ?
Any help/hints would be really appreciated. Thanks...
