I wrote an installer a while ago, and haven't looked at the code much
since. So my memory may be faulty. But I think the big advantage to
using CEAppMgr is that _it_ picks, copies, and "runs" the appropriate
CAB file. The only argument I passed it was the path for the directory
containing the CAB files. I sure don't think I needed to figure out
the OS and/or platform for the target device.

If a device is attached to ActiveSync, you can determine its OS
version and platform by looking in the registry on the _desktop_.
