I strongly recommend using google
(http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search) to look up
newbie
in this newsgroup (microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer). Many of the
threads that turn up will include messages from me similar to this
one. But many will contain real info, including pointers to sites with
sample code, relevant articles, and lists of books. And multiple
opinions about tools etc.

This seems like a challenging first project.
