Yes, you should be able to step through the code using Visual Studio while
connected to a real Pocket PC device.

This shouldn't happen, of course. Perhaps reinstalling Visual Studio will
resolve the problem. It seems this usually only happens with the emulator
(for various reasons discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base).
