Instead of connecting your Pocket PC to ActiveSync via serial, connect it
via ethernet:

1. Disconnect Pocket PC USB or serial cable
2. Physically connect Pocket PC ethernet cable to network
3. On the Pocket PC, open ActiveSync
4. Tap Options, then clear the box "disconnect when done". Tap OK
5. Tap Sync
