Re: ActiveSync 4.5 and Microsoft's amazing ignorance of the true problem therein!

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have no means of validating the error. My device is WM5 and, since AS4.2
works fine with that, I'm somewhat reluctant to upgrade. However, a clear
problem statement with suitable version information might help get this
fixed. When I say "suitable version information", it's going to take the
entire version number of everything, WM6 (Device Information Control Panel
applet contents, typically), and the version information for as many of the
AS DLLs and EXEs as you can find. When you have a failure that you can
adequately describe, post a real problem description here, including the
version information for everything you can get your hands on, and I'll try
to forward it to someone at Microsoft. Till then, I'll wait...

So that was a "yes", this describes the problem and the version of Windows
Mobile doesn't matter and the version of ActiveSync doesn't matter (I know
this isn't true)? And it is an earlier date, but still in the future, as
far as the calendar change?

Paul - thanks for your speedy response.
I do believe that the version of WM does matter and the version of AS
does matter - forgive me if I am not responding to your questions
adequately.
I am using WM6 and AS4.5.
I didn't have this problem with WM5, but I think I upgraded both apps
on the same date, so who knows.

As for the specific issue caused by the problem, please stand by for
actual examples. Suffice to say for now that I haven't checked past
appointments, and so do not know how/if they have been impacted.

I do know that I lost updates to upcoming (thereby future)
appointments.
This truly is a link to another person expressing related problems, as
well:
https://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1990442&SiteID=65
- contrary to something said earlier, it isn't a link back to this
topic at all - check it out - many others expressed their issues here
- have you checked it out?
