HTC TyTn USB-Sync with Vista fails

Dear Group,

I have a PocketPC HTC TyTN with WM5, which I could sync with XP and ActiveSync.
Now I have a new computer (Vaio VGN-TZ31VN) with Vista and Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.6965.
All available Vista Updates via Windows Update are made.
Trying a sync via USB, WMDC simply attests: "not connected".
In WMDC-Settings I selected "Allow USB-connection" (hope, I translated right from German)

Windows Device Manager shows under Networkadaptors: "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adaptor #2"
and under Portable devices: "R5C592" and "R5C822"

Windows Explorer does not show any portable device under Computer.

Seems as if Vista is not recognising my device.
I tried a HTC Touch Diamond - the result is the same.
So I think, the problem is located on the PC.

I use Windows Live OneCare as antivirus-protection.

Any helpful ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Holger.
