Hi Raj,
thank you for jumping in.

I followed your suggestions and the sync works fine now.
I fisrt moved all notes from the devices My Document folder to personel
Folder
while the device was connected.
Then moved back all notes to the My Document folder.
AS syncs the notes and files folder without any warnings.
Also entering a new note on the device doesn't cause any
warnings when sync is running.

Again many thanks for your assistance.

Kind regards,
Bodo

Hi,

ActiveSync synchronizes Notes in a very unique manner. It will either
sync with Notes under Outlook or as a file under the My Documents folder
of the desktop depending on the selection under Tools -> Options. If
both are selected, then it will sync it as a Note because of its
designated sync order. ActiveSync will sync information types in the
order as seen under Tools->Options. Notes include your regular notes
(.pwi) and the voice recordings (.wav) saved under the My Document folder
of the mobile device and Notes saved in Outlook.

Could you try moving the Notes files from the My Documents folder of the
device to another folder to ensure it doesn't sync and then check by
moving it one at a time.

Hi Chris,
there are no embedded files in my Outlook notes.
I create a new Outlook profile and rebuild all settings.
Then delete the AS partnership and start to sync the device again.

When AS is finished it states 16 unconfiremd items in files folder.
I can see these files in my desktop folder ...My Documents
They are of type Inkwriter/NoteTaker/Notes Documents.
The same number and name of notes appear in my Outlook Notes folder.

When I click to confirm items AS prompts 16 times with a message:
"Sync canot be completed because one file cannot be synced with the
mobile device.
Close all programs on the mobile device and desktop and try again."

I closed Outlook and repeat the sync but with no avail.

Any clues on how to proceed?

Thanks in advance
Bodo

Hi,
Do you have any embedded files in your notes? Have you run Scanpst to
check the PST file for any issues? These could cause the problem you
described.

Hi Raj,
thanks for your reply.

I followed your suggestion, but the next sync AS prompts me with this
option:

The following Informationtyp on the mobile device has items, that have
never been
syncronized with this computer before.

Informationtype: Notes

o Merge items from the device with items from the desktop
o Replace items on the device with items from the desktop
o Don't syncromize this informationtype at this time

I choosed the first options and I get the same execption again.

On the next sync I choosed option 2.
When sync is complete AS states 2 unconfirmed items in notes folder.
Confiming these items results in a AS prompt:
A file could not syncronized with the device. Close all programs on
the device
bevore the next sync.

Appreciate any help.
Thanks
Bodo

Hi Bodo,

Uncheck Notes as an option to sync in ActiveSync and then once sync
is complete, check it again and see if the issue is resolved.

Hi,

Desktop info: Win XP prof, Outlook 2003 SP3,
Mobile: Windows Mobile 6
AS: 4.5 (4.5.0) 5096

When I attempt to sync my mobile smartphone I get the exception
above.
The exception occurs when AS tries to sync Outlook notes.

On the mobile device I created a note during a phone call.
I assume that this item cannot be synced with Outlook.
So I delete that note item from the mobile device and run AS again.
But the error still occurs.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks
Bodo
