Re: WMDC WILL NOT CONNECT AFTER TYTN UPGRADE TO WM6

Hi Chris De Herrera,

Many thanks for your reply and I indeed tried the article you suggested.
Unfortunately it did not work.

Having said that, at 2pm yesterday, I decided to un-install everything I
could about WMDC and start again.

Some files I could not delete even though "I was in administrator" of all
files. I found out from Windows that some files can never be deleted unless
you install Vista again.

I installed WMDC and it did not open on clicking. I attached my USB from the
phone & immediately "new hardware" came up.

Windows Update also immediately told me there was a driver for my pocket pc.
This driver I had been trying to download for days with no joy. At 9.30pm,
the driver downloaded! (I don't know what I did to get it to download, but
I'm learning!)

On completion of the download I was shocked! WMDC OPENED!

However, it still will not sync & looking at the info on the WMDC, it does
not show the section: "start a new partnership".

It just shows "end a partnership".

This has happened before & I when I deleted the last partnership, WMDC just
shut down & did not open again until I un-installed everything.

The only difference this time is that the HTC driver downloaded.

Where can I find the files to "start a new partnership", or should I go
through the whole lot again & un-install WMDC?

My only concern is that the HTC driver will not install again!

Any advice please?

I updated my TyTN phone to WM6 after months of trying only to find WMDC
will
not connect. When I plug in the USB all that happens is the amber light
comes
on & it starts charging up. Nothing else, though I can connect to the
internet on my phone by either WiFi and GPRS. (Orange network).

I have tried all the usual tasks you can do in order to sync but no joy.

I have un-installed WMDC & re-installed; cleared the "enable network
function"box;cleared partnerships (then when I do that,WMDC does not even
open up at the next attempt to open it);; tried updating drivers; in fact
everything.

The main thing what happens is that Windows tells me to upgrade my TyTN
USB
which they have on Windows Updates, when I try that it comes up: "the best
driver is already on your pc".

Windows Solutions tells me to download the KB940199 file but when I do
that
it comes up: "does not apply to your system".

Can anyone advise me please of what I am doing wrong in order to get WMDC
to
connect to my phone? I use Vista.

I hope someone can help, & many thanks in advance.
