Re: WMDC WILL NOT CONNECT AFTER TYTN UPGRADE TO WM6

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,
Take a look at Windows Mobile Device Center - Connection Overview - http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/wmdc/connectoverview.htm It covers step by step the connection process and items for you to check.

I updated my TyTN phone to WM6 after months of trying only to find WMDC will
not connect. When I plug in the USB all that happens is the amber light comes
on & it starts charging up. Nothing else, though I can connect to the
internet on my phone by either WiFi and GPRS. (Orange network).

I have tried all the usual tasks you can do in order to sync but no joy.

I have un-installed WMDC & re-installed; cleared the "enable network
function"box;cleared partnerships (then when I do that,WMDC does not even
open up at the next attempt to open it);; tried updating drivers; in fact
everything.

The main thing what happens is that Windows tells me to upgrade my TyTN USB
which they have on Windows Updates, when I try that it comes up: "the best
driver is already on your pc".

Windows Solutions tells me to download the KB940199 file but when I do that
it comes up: "does not apply to your system".

Can anyone advise me please of what I am doing wrong in order to get WMDC to
connect to my phone? I use Vista.

I hope someone can help, & many thanks in advance.
