3.71 active sync used
Activesync is a funny beast. If you try to reselect an existing
partnership after a hard reset, it assumes it's a new device. (Why? I
can't tell you! Probably because the device "tells" the PC it's never been
sync'd yet.)
To restore a backup to an "empty" device, DON'T create a partnership,
connect as a guest, then run the backup/restore utility and the device will
"become" it's old self again, and the partnership shouldn't need to be
recreated.
Intuitive, huh? ;-)
At this point, you've probably already messed up the old partnership trying
to repartner the post-reset 4150 with the old name, so starting from
scratch (new partnership name, sync PIM data from scratch and reinstall
programs) might be simplest.
