Morning Paul...
I care because... I use my iPaq 90% of the time NOT connected to the PC or
the cradle (for recharge). It's MAINLY an MP3-player to me; I still use my
PalmPilot to manage my calendar/contacts.
So... when I turn the iPaq on... it starts AutoSync and if I forget to kill
AutoSync... my iPaq's dead the next morning and I can't use it that morning
while it recharges.
I want to be able to turn my iPaq on... NO AutoSync and when I put connect
it to my PC (to change my Books-on-Tape mp3)... I'll MANUALLY start AutoSync
(on the PPC). I don't care about starting AutoSync on the PC or not... it's
plugged into the wall and it doesn't use much of my PC's resources so far.

In order for sync to occur, ActiveSync has to be running on both ends of
the connection. AS on the Pocket PC will always start, so you don't care
about that and can't do anything about it, either. In order to sync with
the PC, the PC ActiveSync needs to be running so, if you use a program
that prevents it from starting (when you toggle it into the disabled
state), you'll have to toggle it back to 'on' in order to sync, but
presumably that's what the program does. I've never used it. Why do you
care whether AS is starting on boot or not? What's the big deal?

Thanks Sergey!
Checking the website, it SOUNDS like I need to run this on the PC that I
sync with... but, since the website makes it sound like I need to run
this exe on the PC I sync with... I won't be able to check this until I
get home after Christmas... so I'll ask "confirmation" questions...
I don't care if ActiveSync loads/doesn't load AS on the PC... only
concerned with loading AS on PPC power-up... this will do the job?
This App will allow me to start AS... on the PPC... and sync with my PC
without other grief??
Thanks again...
